A New Mexico Food Restaurant in Houston, Texas

Are you familiar with “stacked” enchiladas made with red or green chile – or maybe half and half? Maybe with blue corn tortillas and maybe with a fried egg on top? Do you associate the names Hatch and Chimayo with this special delicacy? Do you remember green chile on a hamburger? How about sopaipillas? Do you think of chile as something added to a dish rather than a dish itself?

If any of this sounds familiar, you will be happy to know that you can find it all at SANTA FE FLATS, NEW MEX GRILLE right here in Houston, Texas!

Santa Fe Flats is the special endeavor of a transplanted New Mexico family with the same fond memories and desire for this unique Southwestern cuisine. The restaurant’s fare is based on the recipes of the family matriarch, for whom the restaurant’s “Bar Angelina” has been named. Photographs displayed in the bar chronicle the family’s history from the early 1900’s when they emigrated from Spain.

The decor, like the food, is New Mexican. An artist’s rendition of Taos Pueblo decorates one full wall. An illuminated arrangement of authentic New Mexico Indian pottery is displayed above an expansive salad bar. The interior construction is of wood columns and vigas. Outside, a landscaped log ramada with a covering pole-ceiling forms shaded seating for drinking and dining. A separate ramada area provides a children’s sand box.

Please join our family here at Santa Fe Flats for lunch or dinner. We want you to enjoy the unique food of New Mexico prepared by our specially qualified cooks using the best recipes and finest ingredients available anywhere.
